Stop-work policy

Nuova Simat is strongly and constantly committed to promoting and consolidating a culture of health and safety for all people in every country in which it operates, increasing awareness of work-related risks and promoting and encouraging responsible behavior.



Putting Health and Safety first for Nuova Simat means that no job can be performed without compromising safety. All work must be performed 100% safely, even if it takes longer.

Every Nuova Simat employee is responsible for their own health and safety and that of their colleagues and has the right and duty to intervene and stop any activity they believe may seriously endanger them, regardless of position, seniority, or role. Any unsafe behavior, action, omission, or situation that could potentially lead to injury must be promptly reported to their direct supervisor or the highest-ranking Nuova Simat representative on site so that appropriate action can be taken quickly.

Nuova Simat management encourages decisions of this nature by colleagues, because it always puts health and safety first. The stoppage order must be implemented in good faith.

No blame or liability should be attributed to an employee or contractor who reports an unsafe situation or applies the Stop Work Policy, even if such action is subsequently found to be unnecessary.
