Online on-site boring

In-line mechanical restoration of cylindrical surfaces.

Standard processes

In-situ boring is performed by rotating the cutting tool around the component being machined. Boring units are available in various types (with a cantilevered bar, or bars supported by bearings on both sides), used according to the technical characteristics of the component being machined and the desired results. One of the purposes of in-line boring is to perform multiple operations in the same machine setup, obtaining perfectly aligned surfaces (bearing seats, other surfaces in general).

Work camp

  • up to Ø1800 with inline boring unit (length extendable with the addition of connectable bars – over 10 metres)
  • up to Ø800 with cantilever boring unit.

Special accessories & customizations

  • CNC unit available for working on complex profiles (toroidal and conical shapes, any type of thread, RTJ slots, etc.) and for programming in G-Code language.
  • Possibility of performing semi-automatic cylindrical welding overlays using an interchangeable twin unit on the same centering supports.
  • Possibility of supporting machine tool activities with suitable high-tech measuring systems, used to check the initial state of the surfaces, set up the machine tool itself and verify the final machining result.
